I know I don't really post here much anymore and I am still trying to figure out if I want to come back in any real capacity but I wanted to break my mostly-silence to announce that I brought up the memory interface board for #MiniDragon last night, integrated it this evening and successfully ran a small test program! The program is one that I wrote based on the instructions that I have brought up so far, assembled using the assembler I previously wrote and then burned to an EEPROM! The MiniDragon CPU has officially run a real program off non-volatile storage and gotten the same result as the simulator! Last I left off MiniDragon was on hiatus due to an incredibly weird parasitic oscillating signal. I traced that down to an incompatibility between two circuits on the instruction decoder board as well as a power delivery issue on the ALU. I swapped for a similar design in the instruction decoder and reworked power delivery and now the ALU is 100% complete and operational.
