@aeva@mastodon.gamedev.place one point that I didn't have enough time to thoroughly make here is that it really, really matters what operation you're doing. if you're adding really big numbers together, especially if they're real numbers, fine. multiplying or dividing? use caution. exponentiation, geometric progressions, compounding accumulation along a time axis? danger danger danger
