KARL ERIKSON Aerogramme 1973 Canada pressing An earthy, organic #folk #countryrock record, Aerogramme was one of the first handful of records I bought after moving to Canada. Fantastic organic sounding #70s production, but that wouldn’t mean anything if the songs weren’t any good, and these are great tunes. Wonderfully constructed, all anchored by Erikson’s familiar sounding and comforting voice. All three of Erikson’s albums are great, but this one is the one for me. Since leaving the music business, Erikson has worked in Australia as an Associate Professor of Contemporary Communication at Central Queensland University, He has been an academic researcher, ethnomusicologist & producer in Australia, where he has spent decades studying and documenting Indigenous music and culture.
