It finally arrived at my local shop today, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve bought A LOT of these fantastic Cherry Red multi-disc boxes this year, and this might be my favorite one yet. This is a bit of a prequel to their Musik Music Musique series that dove deep into the important and pivotal synth pop of the early #80s . THIS one focuses on 1979, when underground electronic pop STARTED to become a legitimate (and sellable) genre of music. It’s an incredible buffet of multiple genres that would merge to create the stuff the #80s collection explored. #postpunk , #prog , #experimental #synth music and yes, even #disco.
