@jzb@hachyderm.io I was very excited about LibreOffice Base, until I discovered that it doesn't default to using a SQLite for the back-end. I did get LibreOffice Base to use SQLite with some jiggery-pokery. But there were too many trade-offs for what I consider should be the default option. Ultimately I stopped using LibreOffice Base, and continued with pure SQLite and a bit of clever scripting. Since then, I can't shake the thought that "a bit of clever scripting" isn't a universally accessible fall-back. And that my clever scripts might be repurposed into something fairly friendly to folks who just want to store and retrieve local data in an organized way. If the recurring thought turns into code, I'll be sure to drop a link here.
