When I started writing a book I made my wife a promise: I am NOT going to read the reviews 😂 This was a HARD WON PROMISE. I'm a community-based researcher and I live and breathe feedback and dialogue so this was an enormous choice for me but listen, I also believe in reader safe spaces and information ecosystems and, uh, I study mismeasurement so I understand the power of staring at tiny little star ratings and I'm just not gonna do that on the review platforms specifically. Self-care.
