@brettcannon@mastodon.social If I order a taxi and the driver turns out to be my political opponent, should I make a fuss and demand my money back? Or should I refuse to pay taxes to a government that uses them for purposes with which I strongly disagree? And so on. It is always better to accept other people for who they are and not label them as an enemy at the same time.

@gen2punk@mastodon.social I didn't call anyone an enemy, but neither did I suggest the difference in views here is just voting differently than me because someone has a different view of fiscal policy. I am not asking for money back for services rendered like your taxi example. And taxes are a different situation as you can state your preference by voting or protesting, just like I can by choosing not to be a continuing customer of Mullvad (I'm giving it to the end of month to see if anything else changes).

@gen2punk@mastodon.social In addition to what everyone else said, there's a difference in scale - the taxi driver won't ever almost entirely fund an extremist political party from his earnings, where the Mullvad owner has done exactly that.
