1. copying the encrypted content before attempting decrypt
2. using the built-in software for decryption
this is like digital forensics 101

@millie@infosec.exchange @evacide@hachyderm.io I seem to recall modern systems using hardware-bound key storage, such that the built-in software will not work without the same key store. Recovering the key through bruteforce enumeration remains possible. They will just have to be very patient.
