hey if you ever want to have a fucking TERRIBLE time in this mortal coil, try figuring out how to configure custom document icon artwork in Xcode. (the answer, btw, is to go into your Asset catalog, create a "macOS Generic Icon" and then it will appear in the "Icon Image" picker in the target's Info tab. Not remotely obvious and not a super fun thing to debug since it requires nuking your icon cache every time you make a change)
