The British Museum treats so many of their ancient artifacts like a dog treats a chunk of human-food they swiped off the table when no one was looking. The descriptions on the wall don't even say what the item is, half the time, but they're REAL insistent that "WE HAD PERMISSION TO TAKE THIS, IT'S OURS, WE'RE KEEPING IT". Long-winded descriptions of how Lord-Such-And-Such took it WITH PERMISSION, and not even a listing of, say, which goddess this is a carving of. Colonialism is kicking and screaming over here.
