  • @Lightfighter@infosec.exchange The interpretation comes from Jewish scholarship in general and my Torah Commentary in particular. Although there are Biblical examples of death penalties, there are no Biblical examples of mutilation as legal punishment for crimes. Exodus here is *limiting* compensation for harms to the monetary value of the injury. 🧵/1
