I knew that there were 3 basic ways to trim olive trees, but today I learned firsthand from a very old man, the son of an olive farmer, why the "right" way to cut them is like this. The downward facing branches of olives produce the fruit, he said, or at least the most fruit. I am charmed (and now have to rethink my own trees). #Gardening
