@EI3JDB@mastodon.radio even assuming the social system here doesn't collapse (which it will): if i become and remain unemployed for more than two years, i can no longer access the union unemployment fund, and then i *will* lose my home.

@datarama@hachyderm.io I can see the future you’re talking about, it is a possible destination giving the direction we’re moving in. But it is not a given fact yet. Looking at the “success” of the algorithmic tax system in DK, AI being capable of taking over all jobs is not right around the corner. It will take some serious developments to cut the humans out of the loop. In fact there might be plenty of jobs cleaning op the mess overly confident AI tools make humans do. In the meantime I find meaning in working against the trend. If we’re going 130 km/h into a solid wall it makes sense to slow down the speed to reduce the damage even if we might not be able to avoid the collision completely. Would be nice if the main direction of the wold was not directly into a solid wall in an infinite number of ways, by here we are. And how we are, right now, matters. @EI3JDB@mastodon.radio
