What can be done with Richard Nixon? I mean aside from writing fanfic. There's so much Dick Nixon fanfic. Alan Moore's WATCHMEN posits that Nixon (with the tacit support of Doctor Manhattan looming behind him) simply had himself made President-for-Life and he's still running things.
That's a restless undercurrent in the legend of Richard Nixon, the feeling that he really wanted to just go on being President and might almost have pulled it off. He certainly had no respect for elections and festered with hatred at the necessity of marketing himself.

Frisk and I have both read a book called The Last Pumpkin Paper which canny readers knowledgeable about #Nixon will recognize as a reference to the infamous Alger Hiss case which has never been satisfactorily settled. It was an early political victory for the young Nixon, who was a vicious anti-Communist ideologue from the start of his Congressional years, given to slandering his opponents as Communist spies. Hiss was one of these persons, a State Department bureaucrat and a promising one. (cont'd)
