@John@fairdinkum.one Tariffs are an easy tax for tRump. People don't declare it on the statement to the IRS. It is two or three steps removed from the final payer - the consumer. And the generalized notion of INFLATION can be blamed for price rises. Australians do not pay this tax - Americans do.

@DjityDjity@mastodon.social @John@fairdinkum.one Trump has repeatedly lied and said the other countries are paying the tariffs. It's absurd that he still says that given that when the previous tariffs were deemed illegal, companies got their refunds from the US government, not the country they bought items from. But he has shown that if you repeat a lie enough eventually people will believe it. Still waiting for that check from Mexico for the wall :)
