Andrew Tate is not being kept in the Secure Housing Unit (SHU) because he is a dangerous prisoner, or to punish him. He's being put there because prison administration puts all accused child sex offenders there automatically, so that they don't get stabbed. No, this post is not a glorification of violence. Prison gangs have a different code of acceptable behaviour than the rest of US society. It's an insult to the gang to have a child molester walking among them. According to many gang's rules, child molesters can't be allowed to "walk the yard." If the guards didn't put Tate in the SHU, a gang would stab him... then get mad at the prison administration, for putting them in the situation where this violent outcome was inevitable. The only smart move for the prison admin is to preemtively put Tate in the SHU. US prisons and jails are hell.
