Ugh, like when I'm in ๐ณ๐ฑ and I have to speak in that strange local accent; they drop a lot of the ๐ซ๐ท words we use, they speak without the Norman-invasion vowel shift we use, and they do lots of weird little synonym substitutions (prattle instead of talk, lope instead of walk, although that last one is a word my Newcastle ๐ฌ๐ง nana would use ๐ค).

I find I really have to shift my accent when I get further eastwards up the Rhein, too.

@TallSimon@mstdn.ca there is such a British vs French influence contest going on throughout Canada! I shoulda known the Scots would be in there somewhere!
