I have this amazing bug on my iPad Pro (5th gen) running 26.4.2 where when I try to update it, it asks for the device password but no keyboard pops up (yet all other textfields work fine!) No amount of restarts or rotations is fixing it, the keyboard just renders as a broken ~44pts high rounded toolbar at the bottom of the screen 😆 Finder update via IPSW it is!

@b3ll@mastodon.social Think I had a similar bug. Also vague memory, but I think someone managed to fix it by enabling the floating keyboard layout or such in a working textfield, then trying again.

@b3ll@mastodon.social FWIW I’m seeing bugs in iOS 27 with the keyboard not appearing. Bit hard to get it unstuck too

@b3ll@mastodon.social Bluetooth keyboard might help trick it? I’m seeing similar keyboard visibility flakes on the iPad OS 27 Betas, so I don’t think this problem will go away.

  • @b3ll@mastodon.social I had this issue too and don’t remember what I did to fix it. I think I might have gone to other locations in settings that show a pin keypad, like the Face ID and Passcode settings screen. Then going back to the update screen.
