please boost that would really help hey I'm looking for an alarm clock and there is one feature I really need, it must not emit light by default and have a button for a backlight like digital watches if you have any recommendation or came across one please share it.. I'm currently without a phone and would like to not have to reach for one to check time #alarmclock #askingfedi

@spaceluciolle if you are near an IKEA, you can pick up a FILMIS, cost me 12 GBP There is a backlight button at the top which looks like the right photo when pressed. When not pressed at all, there is no backlight

@spaceluciolle This would be perfect if they still make it or similar. Only downside is it's battery operated. I use it when I travel - it's small and silent. Press the big button on top and it lights up just long enough to tell you the time!

@spaceluciolle Oddly, my Mac Classic alarm clock is exactly like that. It also happens to look like a Mac Classic and sense temperature. The display emits no light at all unless you tap the top to turn the backlight on. All the product shot have the backlight turned on because it looks more like a Mac that way, but the default when you power it on is for it to be off. It's USB-C chargeable and lasts a really long time (at least a month) with the backlight off. I've had it since Christmas and only charged it once so far, and that was because I had the backlight on for a few days. It's not even particularly expensive. Also, you insert a replica System 7 disk to power it on (and eject it to power it off).
