Recently I've noticed (not for the first time) that whatever butter Dunkin' Donuts uses smells like vomit on my lips after I eat it–on a buttered bagel, for example.
Other butters DON'T smell like that.

@Quasit@beige.party that suggests rancidity to me, since butyric acid, the product of oxidation and breakdown of various organic constituents of the butter, infamously smells like vomit or locker-room stench
