Back from a bike ride yesterday, I learned that local Lone Mountain Literary Society will publish my story (actually a hybrid between garden memoir and sequence of fictions) The Garden of Glass. Then, about to celebrate, I saw the news. The story runs some of the long arc of US violence and militarism through a tiny #SanFrancisco backyard. Now I’m at once glad and horrified to have written it.
