The outgoing Environment Secretary, Emma Reynolds, exemplified the problem. She spent her final weeks in office ripping down controls on industrial chicken farming, which destroys our rivers. She did so at the behest of corporate lobbyists. Her job before joining the government? Corporate lobbyist.
