July 22nd will be one of the most traumatizing days of my adult life, and I probably wouldn't be safe in a hotel right now if it were not for the kindness of strangers around the small town of Waterville Washington. I moved to this state in the nicest car I've owned since becoming a driver, a 2015 Ford Fusion. I drove the I-95 and the I-90 to get here from my childhood state of Wisconsin. Aside from feeling some trouble getting up mountains, I never had any issues until today, when trying to get up a mountain pass I repeated got overheating warnings. I did not prepare any coolant but picked some up once I let the car cool down for 30 minutes. As I continued, I once again had issues just trying to get up the damn mountain and had to pull over around 5 times. If I did not have a couple of dudes in a truck show up, teach me what to look for in an overheating issue, I probably would have been struck on that mountain going well into the night. Not only did they address my issue, we discovered it is likely a faulty sensor, but still a scary warning to someone who has never had such a warning before. They followed me up all the way up the mountain to make sure I had no more issues, and going down the mountain to Spokane had no further issues. One could argue that this is a non-issue in hindsight, but I am afraid of getting in that car again to get back home. This was traumatizing. I am not okay.
