Plainly their experience of salvation...which probably isn't actually true salvation in any sense, let's put it that way...changes their personality completely. They become bivalent in a curious way too disquieting to get into right now. The worrying thing is that #CSLewis, who should have known better, seems to have undergone quite this sort of false conversion. That's roughly what I think "born again" Christians are, they are Christians who think they experienced Jesus somehow but didn't and now they're locked into a peculiar semi-delusion. I assert that traces of this are scattered throughout Lewis's writing. His own career suggests it: he "converts" and instantly he's like all the other "evangelicals", acting as if he's the Second Coming--of St. Paul. (cont'd)
