Writing on a public social medium is a little different from what I'd call "writing" in general; perhaps I'm being starchy. I feel altogether too conscious of the ephemerality while at the same time reminding myself that I could always make it less ephemeral if I put my mind to it. There must be folks who simply auto-archive their own posts regularly and all that. I have limited myself by sticking to an end-user sort of computing experience. But also...everything I've written has been in the moment. I have felt a bit like William Shirer writing bulletins from Berlin or Paris, watching in dismay as fascism crept into everything he'd come to know and love. I hope that I have furnished a bit of perspective on events and their contexts. If events play out as I hope they will, the things about which I've written will pass away. (cont'd)
