@theogrin@chaosfem.tw It's part of the ongoing corporatisation of farming, and it happens all over the world, even in supposed beacons of civilisation like the EU. And this has been going on for a long, long time. In a sense, food hasn't been food for a long time. It, and the land and labour required to produce it has always been subjected to the need (nay, desire) for commoditisation. This should be obvious, but in this day and age, we still have farmers wearing "no farmers, no food" propaganda tee-shirts, totally oblivious that they've hooked themselves up to a disenfranchisement machine.
