@kim@post.lurk.org @wheresalice@woof.tech I read it as “but what if they were?” What if you didn’t need to be handed a system by a gigacorp but could instead grow your own and maintain it - indefinitely - without any side effects on the planet? Few of us have the knowledge to move it forward, but if you want to follow the tag it’s because you want to read the stories from those that do.

@chazh@mastodon.social @kim@post.lurk.org indeed - I follow the tag because I love hearing about what people are doing in the permacomputing sphere and maybe one day we will need something more lightweight than mainstream Linux apps. But right now there's enough 10-year-old Thinkpads out there
