Depending on your OS you might be able to switch layouts on the flight (sometimes even automatically).
On macOS (my OS) you can have multiple layouts and use a menu selector to switch them. I am a fan of automation so I also use a little app called "Input Source Pro” to automatically switch from “US” to “US International - PC" automatically on Messages and Mona (my fedi client), this allows me to use ' and ~ as accents on letters that support it without me having to do some finger gymnastics.

@erick@social.erick.sh Si, mucho tiempo, desde que era una niña. yo soy leno. mi familia estan de argentina, querría hablar con ellos. i'm on android and use thumb key, my normal is type split short and they dont seem to have a type split short español, only a thumb key plus symbol
