The only reason ABBA is considered "pop" and ELO is considered "rock" is because "women don't front rock bands".
There's nothing ABBA was doing that KISS or Queen or Led Zeppelin weren't also doing around the same time.

@veronica@explains.social @goofpunk@wetdry.world I way agree on the other three, but: I would only ever call ELO a rock band if someone were holding my kid hostage. Abba never did anything like "Fat Bottomed Girls" or "Black Dog".
