@gedankenstuecke@scholar.social I think everyone would've been ok with it if it actually had been about "slop" and "freeloaders". As it is the new policy bans some of my FOSS projects and I'm quite certain my donations have covered my "freeloading" and that the code isn't "sloppy". But yes, indeed, personally I have my own Forgejo instance and will just move there instead. It's sad though - I sponsored Codeberg since I wanted to support a european instance where FOSS projects could reside instead of on Github. I have a nagging suspicion that many of the persons cheering this ToU change on have no idea how many FOSS projects today use LLM tooling. @abucci @toriver@mas.to

  • @troed@swecyb.com @abucci @toriver@mas.to I obviously can't speak for 'the members' at large - but my impression is that many folks are quite aware and to equal amounts exasperated by how many other FOSS projects are using those tools. But also see that the majority of CB users make quite limited use of those, as they are inherently incompatible with community values.
