@janl@narrativ.es This right here is something that seems so blatantly self-apparent to me, and its one of my biggest blockers to having anything to do with the set of technologies. It's honestly very disheartening and isolating to hear other software devs not seeing this for themselves (or dismissive of the concerns when raised).

@janl@narrativ.es At a recent software conference, keynote speakers/panelists kept saying how AI is "democratizing" software development. But the examples were always "now the CEO can write software too!" and "our token bill is only $25,000/month" and "yeah we did some layoffs, but we weren't going to hire for those roles anyway." I must have a very different understanding of "democratizing": it usually isn't so capital intensive and doesn't usually mean giving power to owners at the expense of workers.
