Rhoticity (pronouncing of r's) is more common in the US, but that's mainly due to the dialect of where people came from originally being more rhotic. In reality both versions of English have migrated a lot from the original in terms of pronunciation. A 17th century English speaker would be just as confused by all the pronunciation from both.
