@Willowbriar@chaosfem.tw that’s basically what it means to be anything. If we are engaging with life in good faith, we enact who we are, our values, what we want, etc. Meaning comes through performance of meaning, in most senses. Those that engage in life in bad faith, they act out the roles they were assigned because they were assigned them, and that’s it. Or as Vonnegut wrote in Mother Night, “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be.”

  • @Willowbriar@chaosfem.tw I would argue there is something more to us than just actions, since there’s also these sense of meanings inside us that we can choose to deny or to live in alignment with. But what it means to be in the world is who we are being in the world, you know?
