@darkuncle@infosec.exchange haha. i feel that. At least most roles i know that carry a pager/mobile has additional compensation. personally, right now I don't think I could do it. i was an engineer doing hardware refreshes all the time so i spent months in the DC but never on call. However I thought I got 'out' being an architect, I still get called at 3am (with no additional pay) in the morning to mentally troubleshoot issues with the engineer when a change goes wrong and only has 30mins to 2hrs to revert the configs.
