i asked this on bsky too: does touhou fan media ever feature OCs or do people mostly just stick to the canon characters? i don't think i've ever seen an explicitly noncanon touhou character out in the wild, unless it was one so popular that the fandom just accepted it as honorary canon and i didn't realize
