@ZRDR_DelRio@shitposter.world @The_Vampire_Brigade@detroitriotcity.com I (and perhaps most others) know Bethke from an amusing novel that he penned called Headcrash, which is about a geek who's involved in no few intrigues when hired to crack a corporate server.
Beale's fairly famous for his disrupting the Hugo awards, and a few of his rightist nonfiction books are worth reading. His fiction is otherwise mostly fantasy distinguished by good concepts and bad prose. He expelled me from his blog's forum in August of 2019 when my magniloquence aggravated some of his regulars, and I had way more fun than they did with our consequent exchanges. He is not a man tolerant of controversy initiated by others.
Anyway, Headcrash is fun if you like stories about computer nerds.

It's funny how you mention getting banned on his forum, while looking up more stuff from this book, I found a few old forum posts about either Beale or Bethke "I liked this book and his game but I had no idea he was a jerk!" And the quote in question was basically saying he believed in God lol, so it's even funnier that you got banned
