>Korah, Dathan, and Abiram rose against Moses, joined by 250 respected leaders of Israel. They accused Moses and Aaron of exalting themselves, claiming the entire congregation was holy. But their rebellion was not merely against men—it challenged the authority God had established. >Moses fell facedown and declared that the Lord Himself would reveal whom He had chosen. The rebels appeared with censers, each carrying fire and incense before the tabernacle. Then Moses warned Israel: “Depart from the tents of these wicked men.” >The people stepped back. Moses declared that if these men died an ordinary death, the Lord had not sent him. But if the earth opened and swallowed them alive, Israel would know they had despised the Lord. >The moment he finished speaking, the ground split apart. Dathan, Abiram, their households, and all who belonged to them plunged alive into the earth. The ground closed over them as Israel fled from their screams. >Then fire came from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering incense. >In one terrifying moment, rebellion met the holiness of God. Based on Numbers 16:1–35.
