Watching the ad for the new X-Files Lego and it's sad how #Lego has devolved from a make anything with your imagination building toy into make this one specific thing from a specific kit and let it collect dust until you throw the plastic out. Are there numbers on how less reusable due to increased specialization the bricks are now?

@z3r0fox@mastodon.social I loved model-building when I was young, but I do not get the appeal of these specific lego kits either. A proper kit will look like (even move like) the real thing, while the lego version just says "hey, I'm another quirky expression of lego".
