we noticed some water damage in this overly big house we just moved into and so i called a roofer and the roofer was like “lol this thing is falling apart” and he sent me a quote and the quote to replace most but not all of the roof is
thirty thousand fucking dollars
and i am still reeling

@phillmv@hachyderm.io pretty sure in that episode of the Golden Girls where they need the roof fixed it cost 10,000 and would've been like 1990, so 30k in 2026 is steep but maybe not too unreasonable. Then again I haven't seen your roof but I have seen a lot of Golden Girls
