@kalvin0x1ad@mastodon.social it is more of an image of a black hole silhouette, than black hole itself. As you pointed it out, even light cannot escape black hole so making image of it is impossible, but what you can image is a hot gas that is circling around black hole and falling on it (accretion disk). There is more to it, related to gravitional lensing, relativistic Doppler effect etc. I advise you to read about how the image of black hole was made if it intrests you.
