You teach them how to make the safest decisions in an difficult world and then you gotta let them make mistakes. That's what parenting is. If you "shelter" your kid from the world instead of teaching them how to deal with it, or even worse farm that out to surveillance technology, you're not really parenting. The world sucks. If you didn't want to teach your kids how to navigate that, why did you have/keep them? You should have just not.
