Some people in #Europe try to get away from #WhatsApp but fail short then just moving to #Signal, it runs on #Amazon servers and fuels millions of dollars into them every year
if you really want digital independence you need something that is decentralized and you can host yourself, something that can't be taken away form you
ideally something that doesn't require phone numbers

@arcanechat@fosstodon.org I switched my family to Wire over the winter. It runs nicely on GrapheneOS, whereas signal was very demanding.
