@jeffjarvis@mastodon.social 5/ Ultimately, the argument boils down to a question of priorities: whether AI policy should focus strictly on how AI affects humans today, or spend bandwidth preparing for what AI itself might become tomorrow. #AI #LLM

  • @jeffjarvis@mastodon.social My take: LLMs are guessing machines. So are human brains. Except we do not run on tokens. Gemini's response: Philosophers and neuroscientists like Andy Clark and Karl Friston argue that the human brain is essentially a biological "prediction engine." We aren't passively receiving sensory information; we are constantly generating top-down guesses about what the world should feel, look, and sound like next, and then updating those guesses based on "prediction errors." #AI #LLM
