Reuters broke the news that Stripe and private equity firm Advent International had made a joint $53bn offer to acquire PayPal. Offer Price: $60.50 per share in cash, which represented roughly a 28% premium over PayPal’s share price prior to the report. Together, the two, Stripe & PayPal, handle nearly $3.7 trillion in annual payment volume.
