@petersuber@fediscience.org @kamellatate@mastodon.social No it didn’t. It made that fair use ruling a year ago. This settlement was about obtaining the books illegally not, technically, the fair use question.

@LeslieBurns@esq.social @kamellatate@mastodon.social As far as I can tell, last year's decision was only preliminary approval. What's new is the final approval -- on both the fair-use question and the settlement for the illegal downloads.
