I have mixed feelings on this.
Clearly there's a lot of vibe-coded crap.
At the same time, coding assistants have vastly lowered the cost of making niche or bespoke apps in a way that I think does not analogize to books. (Who wants to read any book written by AI?)

I recently made a e2ee location-sharing app which I wanted, fills an unfilled niche, and I never would have had the time to build if I had to write all the annoying mobile app UX code by hand. The extent to which coding assistants can boost open source is underappreciated, vibe-coded slop aside.
