@whvholst@eupolicy.social Sure, but what do you need the ID for? Here they need to check my name matches my ticket, that is *all* WERE it for something else, then maybe your argument makes sense.

    @jon@gruene.social As much as I dislike Danish violations of Schengen, or the papers please society we've descended it into, it is not unreasonable for a transport company to want to be able to verify that the holder of a named ticket is that person. And for that purpose your German drivers' license would not work for Dutch Railways either.

    @jon@gruene.social A random card carrying the same name as on your ticket does not make for an identity check. Because that could also be created by yourself. There is no way for them to check the provenance and authenticity of, especially, a German drivers' license.
