Honestly there's not much the EU can do about climate change at this point outside of technological advances. The EUs per capita emissions are lower than those of China and the rest of the Western world. With a much smaller population.
The EU is nearing 5% of global emissions, and with that global per capita average (might have actually gone below that in 2026), and with a downward trend.

@Schouten_B@mastodon.social @scy@chaos.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Large parts of the emissions in China and India are due to outsourced industry from the EU and USA. Those emissions are due to our demands, our consumption behavior. And there is still more that can be done. Like stronger enforcing of national policy making. Maybe sanctions for Germany's current shitshow.
