Rewatching this and realise that it's not I lost my love for Kdramas, but just that Kdramas have morphed into a shape that I no longer love as much. I've tried in vain to find the quirky, melo #Kdrama romances that I used to love in the current roster, but I just don't find it anymore - that unique flavour, the essence that made it uniquely Kdrama. Not sure what changed, but it definitely started when foreign streaming platforms started producing them. I suspect that they're injecting the same kind of formulas into these dramas: dramas that u can watch while scrolling, broad appeal, safe, over explained etc. Interestingly, while the romance genre is somewhat suffering, the Kdrama scifi/fantasy/thriller ones are actually quite good albeit a bit too violent for my tastes. Ok scratch that, I think none of the current crop can beat the likes of Signal and the Memorist. Being back the quirky romances! I miss the Secret Gardens, Another Miss Oh Yang and Kim Sam Soons!
