Always remember the time in October of 1975 when 90% of women in Iceland went on strike: zero paid work, housework, or child-rearing were done for the entire day. The entire economy drove to a halt, men were forced to take on unpaid labour, and everywhere sold out easy-to-make meals like sausages. Women's paid and unpaid labour are the backbone of any economy, and it's about time that both are recognized for their value and compensated adequately.
